Very Merry Christmas and All I want for Christmas

Wednesday, December 18, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Here are two Christmas layouts for today!
I don't remember if I have posted these already or not. So I am just going to post them at the same time.

I had made these layouts before Christmas a couple years ago and posted them. Here is the original posting with details about the layout (first one). I can't seem to find a post for the second one. But i used the Cricut Winter Frolic cartridge for all the cuts.

Enjoy and happy scrapping!

Hello!
Today's layout was a challenge for me to make! I was trying a layout that I had seen Tracy (mercytiara on YouTube) do and I tried my very best to do something similar. This is just such a different style for me so it was very difficult for me to do.

I honestly can't remember what products I used for this. I'm pretty sure they came from a studio calico kit though.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Rocket

Saturday, December 14, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello again!
Today I have another Christmas layout I made last year. It's of my mom's dog when he got his Christmas present from my dog. He just loved it!

I used Simple Stories Handmade Holiday for this layout. I added some kraft coloured washi tape to the layout as well.
The tag is from studio calico.
The mist is Heidi Swapp colour shine in gold and maybe some white paint, I can't remember what the other colour on there is.

Enjoy and happy scrapping!

Smile kitty

Another really cute and simple layout for today. This one of my cat Peaches.

All of my paper came from Heidi Swapp. The alphas are glitter thickers, they are my favourite and I am almost out of them!
I cut the remember arrow with my silhouette, it is number 37684 it is called chevron arrows and it's by Lorri Whitlock. It's a great set!

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas Kitty Tree

Here's a super cute Christmas layout for you guys! It's of my mom's cat climbing out of the tree.

I used Simple Stories Handmade Holidays for this page. Everything came from that collection. So not much to tell you there!

Enjoy!

Been meaning to update...

Hello blogging world, it's me again!  (thought I would add a cute picture, that's Alfie's first ice cream cone)
I promise that I haven't forgotten about any of you! I have just been so busy with school. I am having trouble finding time to fit in scrapbooking never mind posting on here. I will tr my very hardest to get lots of blogging done over my break from school! Hopefully I will be able to schedule posts so that they will be there for my whole school term, that is my goal. I realize that is a lot of blogging and it may not have all products listed. I will try my best though.

Thanks for all your patience and support!

Hello everyone!
I am no longer a CTMH consultant. I decided that the style of product just really wasn't my style after all so I switched to Stampin' UP!
I am very excited to start selling product.
Feel free to contact me for any new information or product advice.
Keep in mind that Christmas is coming up fast and those cards just won't make themselves!

Hi everyone!
This layout was made with one of the first Studio Calico kits I ever got, so it is old. I honestly do not remember what the papers are, but I do know that they are from a kit.

The arrow was cut with my Silhouette, as well as the folder tab. The stamp is also from a past kit. I believe that everything on this layout came from that kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Baptism 5

Monday, October 14, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hi everyone!
Today's layout I made a really long time ago and I don't quite remember where I got all the supplies from. If you have any questions about a particular item I will do some looking into it for you!

I do know that the butterfly paper is Hedi Swapp color magic paper and it's the purple spray that I used on it. Those crad looking embellishments are from Close to my Heart. They aren't actually brads, they are flat backed.

Anyway, it's a different colour combination. Something a little different. It looks like it's showing up more pink in the picture, it is really more purple.

Thanks for visiting!

RCMP Musical Ride

Thursday, October 10, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello everyone! Today's layout is a different one for me. I made this layout a while ago and put it in my box and forgot about it. I used a grid style layout for this page and I have to admit I do like how it turned out. It was challenging for me to do this though.

Because I made this layout so long ago I'm not sure where a lot of this paper came from. I can do my best at guessing though. At first glance I think it may have come from the Scrapbook and Cards today kit from Spring. As well as some scraps that I had.
I could be wrong though.
I see My Mind's Eye, Glitz, Recollections. I am fairly certain most came from that kit.
I believe the badge is from Recollections. There is some mist drops on the page as well.
The circles have been distressed lightly on the edges.

Anyway, this is a really old picture of me, one that I really liked and wanted to get in my book. It is a different style for me as well.
Just goes to show that you can do something that you aren't comfortable with and really like how it turns out!

Project Life Travel Edition: Around Chipembi

Monday, October 07, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hi everyone! Back today with another Project Life travel edition. This page(s) is all about around the little village that we stayed in for the majority of the time. We were there for 18 days.

I had a lot of pictures that I wanted to get on this spread. Some that told a specific story from a cultural even which we took part in. We had an audience with the chief, who is a Prince in their culture. So it was a big deal for us to be able to meet him and speak with him about his culture.

I have been trying to use up some of the Studio Calico kit cards up that I have gotten. As well as add more texture to my pages. For the front side I used twine and 2 cards from the kit. That card at the bottom right is one card, it does fold in half, but I used it as the 4x6 card. I used a flair badge that I had forgotten I had bought that says here/there on it. The washi is from Dear Lizzy, the alphas are Sn@p, some Jenni Bowlin stickers, as well as Simple Stories ones.

The back side has a lot of stamping on it. I was trying to use something different to create a new look. I used a star stamp to make a border on the top right journal card. I was trying to add more layering to the sides of the cards to add interest. There is quite a bit of small layers on this side whilst incorporating stamping as well.
I did add some twine to the top of a tag.

All the label stickers are from Recollections and they are great to work with. The writing surface isn't shiny so you can use any pen on it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Funny Faces

Thursday, October 03, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello everyone!
Back again with another wedding layout. I had disposable cameras on each of the tables so I have some funny pictures from that.

This layout was made using a pretty hot colour trend right now, the navy blue and mint green which I love! The green paper is from Glitz I think, I should really learn to write down where I get my papers from. I used a lot of scraps on this layout. I think that city scape paper is from Amy Tangerine, the dark pink is from Dear Lizzy. Then there are some solid colour papers on there as well as smaller scraps which are older.

The alphas are from Pebbles, I got them in a giveaway from Kristina Werner! I tried to make it so the letters were touching each other so they overlapped to look like hand writing.

I think I may go back and add some glitter or something to this page to just add a little something else to it. I'm feeling like it's a little flat in spots, so some glitter or pearl pen might fix that right up.

Yard Games

Hi friends!

Today's layout is from Zambia again! (I have a lot of pictures to get scrapped!)

This layout came together pretty quickly. I have been really loving my Miss Caroline border stamps lately, they just look great on layouts.
This layout is actually based on a sketch that I drew up myself for a series that I am hopefully going to be able to do soon. I am still working on layout for the sketches. So stay tuned for that!

In the meantime, this layout uses Stampin Up designer series paper. I don't think this paper is available anymore because I got it on clearance a while ago. If you do happen to have it, I believe it's from the Kitchen themed packet.
There are enamel dots, butterflies, stamping, washi tape, definitely my kind of layout!

The layout was designed to be simple, but you could easily make it more advance if you choose to!

Thanks for coming by!

24th Birthday

Hello again!

Today's layout is not one of my better layouts I must say. But I thought I would post it anyway because we all have those layout moments! I am going to take this layout back up to the scrapbook room and try to rework it. And if that doesn't work I will just start all over again with new pictures!

I used Close to my Heart paper for this, Chantilly. ( there is a link there if you would like to purchase the paper)
I was trying to follow the Glitter Girl pattern paper advice, and I think that the paper is ok, it's the embellishing that I don't like.
So I will go back the drawing board and try again!

Thanks for coming by!

Postcard Scrapbooking

Monday, September 23, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

HI everyone! Today's layout is a little bit different. It has lots of images and lots of journalling. VERY different for me!

On our way to Africa we had a layover in Amsterdam, so while I was there I picked up a few postcards. We didn't actually leave the airport, but we could see the surrounding area while flying over. Particularly the tulip fields, which were gorgeous!

The top image is of the airport itself. I liked that postcard because it showed the airplanes, those are like the planes that we flew on. We flew KLM.
The bottom postcard was of the tulip fields. They were amazing to see from the air!

All those little pictures are from one postcard. I cut it up and then chose 4 of the 8 to go on the page. The other ones are in the envelope.

The envelope is from a Studio Calico kit. The background paper is from Stampin Up, I'm not sure which designer paper as I got a few packages of it while they were on clearance. The title was cut from Silhouette Studio. I'm sure if you search the title you will be able to find that cut. The flair is from Studio Calico (a kit) and the pattern paper that is hard to see is also from Studio Calico.

Thanks for coming by!

Our First Christmas

Thursday, September 19, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello scrapping friends!
This layout is one that I made recently, even though it is Christmas. I found my Simple Stories christmas papers from last year and thought I would catch up on a couple pages.

All of the papers and stickers come from the Simple Stories collection. The only thing that's not from that line is the title Thickers. They are a fabric thicker, and I don't know what the font is as they are older and I have them in a Ziploc baggie.

I hope you like this layout! Thanks for coming by!

Bridal Portrait

Monday, September 16, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello paper friends!
I have another layout today. This one uses really soft colours. I wanted that because my picture is also a very soft look. This is one of my bridal portraits from my wedding.

I used a lot of Glitz designs papers in this layout. The green is American Crafts. The washi tape is from a studio calico kit (the wide one) and the other is from a local craft supply store. I used a border punch to get some "confetti" to sprinkle around this page in the various pattern paper colours.
I also did some stamping using border stamps from Miss Caroline. It's in an ink colour that is identical to that kraft colour that is on the background paper already.

Hope you enjoy this layout!

Hello again friends!

Today's layout are some pictures from our wedding reception!
I have been trying to use up old papers that I have had hanging about for a long time. I still have lots more to go too!

The glitter paper is from recollections and it's awesome! I got it on clearance a while ago and I love it! It's adhesive backed and it's holding up really really on the page. The journal card is from a recollections paper stack. I forget the name of it off hand but it's the one that is a "dupe" of simple stories. The floral paper is also from that stack too.
That polka dot paper I got such a long time ago, I believe it's My Mind's Eye the sweetest thing, the honey line. (I looked it up and I'm right!)

The alphas are white thickers. I used ink from Close to my Heart to tint them blue and just a little bit of heidi swapp color shine in gold.

I'm really trying to use up scraps and old papers that I have bought but never used! Stay tuned for more of these layouts!

Thanks for coming by!

Family Swim Zambia 2013

Monday, September 09, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello again!

I have another layout to share with you today. I used papers from a 6x6 paper pad, and I am not sure what it is called. It is a travel themed one though. I believe it is basic grey. I used hexagon paper from a studio calico kit. The arrow paper came in a kit that I got a while ago. I'm not sure who makes it.

I did do some stamping on this layout. They are from the Miss Caroline stamp set. The word is from a stamp set that I got in a kit that I ordered from scrapbook and cards today. There is a wide washi tape on this layout which came in a studio calico kit a while back.
I also used some ink colours to make sprinkles on this layout as well.

Thanks for coming by!

Hello there friends!

Today I have a layout which I made using various lines. I believe the background is crate paper from the pier collection. The grey swirl paper is from a past studio calico kit. The blue polka dot paper is from sn@p I believe. The "washi" tape is basic grey from a studio calico kit.

I used thickers a die cut from silhouette studio. Heidi Swapp hearts and butterflies. Doodlebug border strips and some wood veneer pieces also from studio calico.

That's all for today! Thanks for coming by!

Hi everyone! I have the last update layout for you. This one comes with an old video too!
The video is on a different channel, that was before I had made one just for scrapbooking. If I can find the video I will put it on my new channel.

Thanks!

New Blog Template Coming!

Sunday, September 01, 2013 1 Comments A+ a-

Hi everyone, it's Mike, Jess's husband. Jess is starting to get more blog visitors lately and has asked me to update the template and layout of this blog! The old template and layout has served well for the first couple years, but it's time for something new!

I just wanted to post a warning that I'll be making changes, because the blog may look strange at times while I'm in the middle of working on it. Once I'm done though, the result should be a nice, pretty version 2. Please bear with us!

Updated Layout 2

Thursday, August 29, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Here's another of the updated layouts! This is in a style that I don't really do anymore, but it's still a good layout. I might revisit this style for theme scrapbooking though! It does make it easy to add images that are themed!

Again all the paper is from Recollections.

Updated Layout 1

Monday, August 26, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hi everyone. I found a lot of layouts that I had made but hadn't put photos on, so I am going to post them with the original post linked up!

I didn't post the paper in the blog, I think it all came from Recollections. It's from several years ago so I don't remember the exact names. I know that it is from Michaels though because that was all I had at the time. I believe it's all from various paper pads.

Here's another video for you! It's a process and information video I made.
It shares how I go about selecting patterns and making up a page kit. This is not a science, it's just how I go about making up my own personal page kit. As you will see that doesn't always work too.

I made this layout a while ago and I am not sure where I put the actual layout so I can't take pictures of it right now. When I do find it though I will update with pictures.

Thanks for visiting!

Haul Video #1

Hello!
Today I have a video to share with you. I promise I am going to try and have more videos and more posts coming soon! I am having a slight war with my voiceover. I can't seem to get the background noise to go away and only the voice over to be there. Any tips?

Thanks!

Back from Vacation!

Monday, August 12, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hi everyone!

I am back from vacation now, I was gone for a beach vacation and a family wedding all in 11 days! It was a great time but now I can't wait to get back to scrapping.

Firstly, I am starting something new for myself. I joined the group on facebook for 50 layouts without shopping. The idea is that you make 50 layouts or projects all with supplies that you have in your collection already. You are "allowed" to purchase adhesive and photos, I put that in quotations because you can set your own rules really. The purpose is just to get you using up supplies before buying new stuff.

I haven't made anything yet, as I was on vacation, but now that I am home I am going to jump right into it. I will try and label all the ones that I make with "50 projects" so that they are easier to find.

If you would like to join in on this challenge it is over on facebook. It is called 50 projects and you have to ask to join the group. There are lots of inspiration pictures going up every day there though! So much to look at and a great group of people.

Secondly, another awesome facebook group is nicolejones911. She also does youtube videos with the studio calico kits if you are interested. It is the same user name as the facebook group. You also have to ask to join the group. This group is all about getting those layouts done that you have been meaning to do for so long!

Now that I have gotten that house keeping out of the way, stay tuned for regular updates. AND I will also be putting up some videos soon!
Keep in mind that I am not a professional youtuber or video maker and the quality of video may reflect that but I am going to try my hardest!

Hello! Another project life post from me today. I will try to get another card or something in here before I add anymore of these. I will be going on vacation soon, so my hope is that I have enough posts scheduled to cover the time while I am gone. When I get I will have some pictures from our vacation!

Also in this new collections comes the dimensional elements and 3 exclusive to the collection stamp sets. The sets are everyday type life themes. The images that stamp are incredible including arrows, frames and circles. As well as the days of the week.
This would be a great collection for project life scrappers!

I will have more detail on them coming up soon, including pictures! One of them is all washi tape type of stamps, another had large words, family photo, penguins, a winter tree scene. Seriously awesome stamp sets!

Also new in the catalog is the Crush collection. It's designed so that you can scrapbook memories on the go! The accessories that you can buy to go with the books are amazing and I think I might get some for scrapbooking on my regular layouts too! They would also be really good for project life scrappers I think.

There are just so many amazing products in this catalog! I honestly want to buy most of them, which is amazing, but bad for my wallet!

Sorry for the ranting about all the new products, but I seriously love all of them! I can't wait to get my hands on them!

Hope you enjoy looking at them!

Project Life: Travel Edition: Two layout share!

Monday, July 29, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hi Everyone! Here are some more project life pages for you to look at. I'm not going to say the products, but I will label the manufacturers if you are interested.

This page is one of my favourites so far. I think that might be because of the title card, I may have to use that idea again in other places of the album.

Thanks for coming by!

Fun Favourite Memories

Saturday, July 27, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello everyone! I thought I would share a layout today from my trip, but not a divided one to break up the project life style postings.

This page shows one of my favourite photos. However, I am not fond of the page. I thought I would share the page with everyone and then take it apart and post the new page that I make. I don't know what went wrong, but I thought it would make a fun experiment for my blog. Let me know if you like this sort of thing and I can do more of it with my older layouts that I am not a fan of anymore.

Since I don't really like this layout I won't go into detail with the products that I used. I will share that when I re-do this particular photo.

Project Life: Travel Edition: Arrival

Thursday, July 25, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello crafters! I have another Project Life page for you today. My project life pages don't necessarily go together in the sense that they are the same event/time period on each double page. This one is about our arrival in Zambia and our hotel, but the facing page is about activities we did in the beginning days of the trip.

For the little people that are on the page, they are a stamped image. It's from the Sightseer stamp set from Close to my heart. There were 7 girls on the trip and one boy, so that is what there is in the stamping. I thought that it would be a good way to use that stamp as well as show the people on the trip.

This page is mostly pictures because I took a lot of pictures on my trip. If the pictures don't have any specific story attached to them, my plan is to make them in project life format. If they are more detailed stories there will be a scrapbook layout close to the divided layout that goes along with it. I hope that make sense to you. Once I get my album done I will share pictures of what I am talking about. A couple of the pictures are going to show up in 2 places, but that's ok with me.

I will share more about that later.

Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life: Travel Edition: Adventure Ahead

Tuesday, July 23, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello everyone! I have a few more project life pages coming up for you. I will try to break them up with a few scrapbook layouts and cards so that it doesn't get too boring for you.

This page spread is about our travel, all 30 hours of it, to get to Africa. It talks about the plane, stretching, and Casablanca. It's not going to be the title page for my album, I have a group shot of us leaving the train station that I am going to use for that, but currently it is the title page.

The smaller cards on the page are Mambi cards that you can get from Michaels. The larger blue card is from a Heidi Swapp paper pad and the second 4x6 card is from Echo Park.

Thanks a Bunch: CTMH June stamp of the month

Sunday, July 21, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello! I have a quick little card today, this was super easy to make and would make a great mass production card!
I used the CTMH June stamp of the month for the sentiment and flowers, unfortunately after June you won't be able to get this great set. I'm sure there is something out there that is similar though.
I used promarkers to colour the flowers and CTMH pear ink for the sentiment.

I just cut up some scraps that I had in my drawer and matted everything in black and it was done! That simple to make.

Enjoy this easy little card! Thanks for stopping by. Link to your blog below if you have any simple little cards like this, I would love to see them! If you have and questions or comments just leave them below and I will get back to you!

Bo Bunny birthday card

Wednesday, July 17, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hi everyone!
This is going to be a quick post.

This card was made using a Bo Bunny 6x6 paper pad. Not sure what the name of it is, but it has cupcakes and such in it. I used stampin up white cardstock. A CTMH cricut artiste stamp set with Hero Arts shadow ink in Raspberry Jam.
I embossed the sentiment with silver.
This card has a lot of dimension to it, so I probably won't mail it to anyone, but would make a great card to put in with a present, maybe for one of my nieces.

Thanks for stopping by!
