Scrapbook Challenges

Hello everyone!

I made this page with a challenge in mind from a book that I have. It is to use song lyrics as a title on your page.

We just got a new puppy so I thought this Taylor Swift song from the Hunger Games would be perfect for this picture. The cats sit up on the stairs and look down to keep their eyes on the puppy all the time!
Super simple layout. Nothing complicated, no techniques used here. I did use my cricut for the lettering, I think I used the Child's Year font for this one, but it might have been Plantin Schoolbook. I really can't remember.

Have fun creating something. Try using a song in your layout!

Dear Lizzy collection for my dog

Hello again!

Today I am sharing a layout that I made using the Dear Lizzy and Sketchbook collections, both by American Crafts. I actually got the paper pad for the original Amy Tangerine, Sketchbook and Dear Lizzy for $10 each at Winners! Can you believe that?? I was so excited so I got all three of them.

For this page I used some gold metallic paint to bring in a more masculine feel to the page, my dog was a boy after all, and also to add some interest. I tried to really mix my linear lines up on this page, the pictures go vertical, paper and borders go horizontal, but the embellishments go vertical again. It was something new for me to try. I really like the way that this all came together too!

It's always good to try something new!

3 4x6 photos layout

Hello everyone!

Here is a fun and easy to fit pictures onto a layout. I used 3 4x6 photos. Added some patterned paper, title, minimal embellishments and I was good to go!

Sometimes layouts really can be that easy. Sometimes I struggle more with them. Right now for example, I have a layout sitting on my desk that is half done and I am stuck on it! I will go back to it in a while to see what I can do to complete it more.

Happy creating!

Scrap-lifting Layout

Hello Crafty friends!
Today's layout is inspired by Shimelle Laine. I took her Hitchhiker's Guide to Scrapbooking over at Two Peas.  I loved it! So many things to be inspired by. This is one layout in particular that I really loved and decided to replicate it in my own way. The general shape is the same, the title and embellishment shapes are different.

I used paper from DCWV, Bazzil, and some other scraps that I had lying around in my stash.

Hope you enjoy and can be inspired from something you see like I was.

Here is the link for the workshop if you are interested in taking it!

Paris Themed Crafty Items

Friday, August 24, 2012 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello everyone!

I wanted to share my love of Paris with you. I have never been there (yet) but I am in love with everything Paris! I am going there this spring and I can't wait. Since I am going there I have been on the search for anything Paris themed for crafting with.

The first thing I have found is the Carta Bella Paris Girl collection. I ordered all of it on the spot. While I was at two peas I decided to look through the sale section to see what they had. Oh my goodness did I find some good stuff! I found these stamps which I love but didn't buy. This is the best thing that I found on sale, this wooden stamp set Oh my do I ever love it! I was lucky enough to be able to purchase it (I think) because it says that it is now sold out.

So if anyone else find any really cool Paris themed crafty items let me know!

(I don't get anything from sharing these items with you all, I just found them, loved them and bought them. Then thought I would share my love of Paris themed crafting items with everyone!)

New Puppy!

As you can see from the title of the blog post we got a new puppy! That means life has been crazy! He is a little bundle of energy and really keeps us going all the time.

This page was the first picture we took of him. He just came home with us that day. I wanted to keep the page simple because I knew that there was going to be a lot of writing I wanted to get on it. I used a lot of scraps on this page because I had just unpacked and that was what was left out of the boxes.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to store scraps that would be great! I am still trying to figure out how I want to store them in my room. Mostly they just end up on the side of my desk right now and that only works for so long until i run out of room. I was thinking about getting a basket or something to keep them in like Shimelle Laine does.

Happy crafting everyone!
