Hello! I hope that you are all having a great day! I just have this layout to share.

I am still not sure that I like this layout. I might still take it apart and change it. If I do I will post an updated version.

I used Simple Stories for this layout. I am not sure what collection, I think it is just the Sn@p collection.

Happy crafting!

Studio Calico Kit: Photograph Genius

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello everyone! I am back again. I just got a new job recently so I have been busy and my blog hasn't been updated due to that. I made this layout using the 34th Street kit I believe. I didn't write it down and I made it a while ago, so I might be wrong about that. I do remember that I absolutely loved that pattern paper and it was by Tim and Beck.

The little picture on the layout is actually one of the photographer business cards. If you are looking for an amazing photographer and are in the Ottawa area her name is Chantal Benoit. She really is awesome. Her website is here and our picture on her website is here we are the top picture on the left. I just want to say that I don't get anything by promoting her I really just think that she is a great photographer!

Travel collection

I am testing out the app for blogger on my phone to see how I like it.

Hopefully this works. Then I can post pictures of what I am working on at the moment.

I forgot to mention that this is some stuff that I am saving for any possible travel coming up in our future. Not sure where we are going or when, but starting the collection!

Busy Times Ahead

Hi everyone!

So I am going to have some busy times ahead. I just got a new job which is super exciting. I am going to be working in the scrapbooking industry! But that will mean that I won't have as much time for my personal scrapbooking and blog maintenance.

On top of that, my husband and I have been following a pretty strict gym regime. We go every other day to do something at the gym for at least an hour and 45 minutes each time. (an hour of weights followed by 45 minutes of cardio, which is turning into 45 minutes of walking as that is what I am training for, I am going to have to walk for 45 minutes 4 times a day.)

With all of that going on, and the animals, there isn't going to be a whole lot of extra time for scrapbooking. Luckily I have some projects made that I haven't shared yet, so I will be "banking" posts for a while. I am going to work on that this weekend since I start work next week.

I will be doing my absolute best at keeping the blog updated so that you all can continue to read it!

That's all for now!

Art Journalling: travel tips

Wednesday, January 09, 2013 0 Comments A+ a-

Hi everyone!

Christmas was a lot of fun for my family and me this year! We had a really good time and lot of laughter.

I am going to start a new "series" or project on my blog. It's going to be all about art journalling. I really want to start journalling about my everyday life and keep track of what our lives are like right now, but I don't really know where to start or anything else.

I just wanted to start with a post about travel journalling. I am by no means an expert, in fact I usually have a hard time keeping a journal while I am travelling despite my best efforts.

I was thinking about ways to make a journal because my husband and I are talking about taking a trip. I thought I would make a practice journal. I say practice because I am not sure what book I want to use or how I want to put it together. So while we are just going around Ottawa doing things in town I thought I would practice putting a journal together.

Some tips that I have found really interesting and possibly useful are:

-sort everything that you want/need in little bags
-bring bags/ziplocs for keeping treasures in from your trip, this is especially useful if you aren't going to put things in the journal right away, then you can keep track of what day they are from
-postcards: these can be used for both journalling and photos of places that you went
-gift card envelopes: can be used to put journalling in, hold items or even hold gift cards in there
-hotel keys, lets you keep track of where you stayed
-hotel key envelopes, can store things in and use as a little pocket

That's all I have for now. I am going to experiment with different books and see what I like the best. I will keep updating this series until I find what I like and what works for me. Hopefully this will be useful to someone else too!
