Project Life Travel Edition: Pastel Livingstone

Hello everyone!

Today's post is another divided page one from my trip. This protector is a Becky Higgins design A sheet. It is the one with 4 4x6 and 4 3x4 slots in it.

I used My Mind's Eye Cut & Paste Flair Today for most of the papers. I think there is some Echo Park in there and maybe some Hello Again from Carta Bella. I just used whatever scraps I had to back the photos that went with the main pastel colours of the page.

Summer Beach

 Hello again!
Since it is so windy and cold out, I thought I would get a post up from our summer vacation we took this year.
We went to a cottage that my friend's parents let us use for a week. Before going there though we spent the weekend with my parents and their dog. They took us to two different dog beaches where dogs can run around off leash and play in the water.
Our dog didn't really like the water as it was very wavy that day and he is short, but he loved playing in the sand!
These pictures are from a break time where the dogs had something to eat. My dog (the little one) was eating the kibble that Rocket was dropping on the sand. Alfie refused to eat the kibble out of the dish.

For products on this layout I mainly used Simple Stories I (heart) Summer collection. I didn't have a lot of the papers, but I did have the sticker sheet. So I chose colours that would match the stickers. I think I only had that one piece of paper with diagonal colour blocks on it.
I believe the darker blue paper is from the Maggie Holmes collection for Crate Paper. The yellow paper is just a piece of cardstock that was the same colour as in the patterned paper from Simple Stories.

The two die cuts on the page are from the Silhouette Store. Summer card is #44251 on the store and the beach card is #44253 both are from Sweet Elsie.

I hope this post can warm you up if you are somewhere it is really cold! Thanks for reading!

Resting Pages

Hello again!
Today I have something that is different. It's not a new idea by any means but it is something different to try. My album has lots and lots of pictures in it, so I wanted something to rest on throughout the book. Admittedly these pages are at the front and back of my album, but there is one in my book that is a little different than these but serves the same purpose. I also wanted to come up with something that was interesting for the title pages as well.
I bought these papers at a local art supply store before I left for my trip and I love them so much!
Now the problem with that was that I didn't want to cover up any of the pictures on the papers. That posed a problem in scrapbooking over them. Then I remembered something that I had seen on YouTube somewhere and tried it.

Front.

This is super simple! All you have to do it cut up the paper into the right sizes for the pockets and slide the paper in. It's really that easy to do and you get this awesome look from it! Plus you get to see that amazing paper the way you bought it for.

 Back.

Now this particular paper is for a zoo outing. All I did was cover up the part at the top that said zoo on it with a green piece of cardstock and put Zambia on it. I think it turned out pretty good!

Front.

Back.

On the back on this page (it's the last page in my album) it was pretty plain looking. I didn't mention anywhere in my book that this trip was sponsored by the Ottawa Presbytery for the United Church of Canada. So that's what I did here. I just took a small scrap of paper and wrote the two names on it and attached it to the middle of the page.
Now  it is in my album and the paper doesn't look so plain!

Before and After #2

Hello again!
Here is another page that I really did not like. I re-did it and now I like it. Still not one of my favourite layouts, but it was a great improvement.
Sadly this is one of my favourite pictures from my trip, so I might just have it printed again and start all over!

I'm not sure what all the products I used were. I know there was Dear Lizzy Fifth and Frolic, both the collection and the project life kit. As well as some Recollections paper. The letter stickers are Sn@p and Basic Grey.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments if you want to see more of this sort of thing and I will go through my older layouts to update them!

Before and After #1

Hello everyone!
I had a couple pages that I just really didn't like. That happens to the best of us all the time! So I decided to re-do them. Luckily these pages were divided layouts so they were easy to update and re-do. Here are the links to the original posts on my blog featuring these pages:

Arrival Page

Adventure

Here are the pictures of what they look like now.

The main difference is that I got and used the Becky Higgins design A protectors. I have wanted to use them for a really long time but just hadn't bought them.  I love them so much!

I hope you enjoyed this little before and after of a couple pages I wasn't too thrilled with! Thanks for coming by.
