Bridge Trolly

Hi everyone! I have another layout for you today. This layout is one of the photos that I edited so that it was cropped to fit into a square a bit better. This layout is from my trip to Africa which is going in that album. That album is slowing turning into a second album.

I used products that I have had floating around in my room for a while.  I honestly don't know where that piece of paper in the background is from.  I don't know if it's from a My Mind's Eye paper stack that I bought a while ago or if that is one of the papers from Glitz that I bought.

THe other bits of paper are from Dear Lizzy and old Studio Calico kits that were scraps which I wanted to use up.  I did use some die cuts from my Silhouette which I cut out every so often in a big batch and then keep them in little photo containers from Michaels. I will do a post on my blog if you would like to see how I store my die cuts.

Some other things I used on this layout were washi tape and some stamping for texture.  I believe the stamp is from a Miss Caroline set that I bought on sale a while ago.  I think that frame is from Pink Paislee. I got it on sale at a LSS a while ago and I don't have the packaging anymore so I am just guessing but I am fairly certain that is where it is from.

I really should start writing down where I get my supplies from. The way I blog is that I make a bunch of pages and keep them in a pile, then I will take photos of them all at once and upload them to my blog to put into posts. Then I just go through all the drafts I have to write in them what I used.  This is an efficient way of blogging, but I don't always remember where the products are from or what they are.

Anyway, thanks for coming by to read.  I will be back with more posts hopefully this week!

Beach Dog Process Video

Saturday, March 29, 2014 0 Comments A+ a-

Here is another process video. One day I will figure out how to make the quality better. I am not sure if I just don't have something selected properly when I upload to YouTube or what, but I will get there. (I think I have it figured out) I have a bunch of videos filmed that I am experimenting with. I think I am going to make them shorter though because it's easier to edit and upload.

I used a variety of products for this spread. I am trying to get out some old things and use them up, but I think this layout was made using mostly newer products that I have bought recently. The travel cards come from a travel mini kit from Project Life. I got mine at Michaels so I don't know if that is something they are only carrying or if it's something that other stores are too. I checked two peas and I didn't see anything like I bought at Michaels. It's a pack of 40 cards I think.

For two of the 4x6 pockets, I used two 3x4 sized cards, I explain more in my video how I did that. It's not complicated or difficult though.
The pink/orange paper is from the Hello Again collection from Carta Bella

These chipboard letters are from a Bo Bunny sheet the Happy Tails collection. I didn't get anything else from this collection because I don't normally use themed paper, just stickers sometimes or cuts from my Silhouette. That being said this collection is super cute! I might get the 6x6 pad or something else from it. Mainly because I don't normally scrap with the colours that are in this collection and don't really have much to go with the stickers.

I think that's all for now. Please check out the video and I will be back soon with something new!

Dog Lifejacket

Saturday, March 29, 2014 0 Comments A+ a-

HI everyone! Here is a nice bright fun  layout for today.  It's of my dog wearing his sweet little life jacket!
He is small and had never been swimming before so we bought him a life jacket to wear just in case.  He was ok with it on too!
I think he might have had a few more instances of being terrified if he didn't have it on too.

For the products I used some from the Pier collection so from Maggie Holmes.  The hearts and butterfly are Heidi Swapp chipboard pieces.  The tile stickers are from Close to my Heart.
I used gold mist to change the colour of the chipboard letter stickers. The gold sparkle paper is from American Crafts. I almost missed it under the photo there!

I think that is all. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment and I will answer!

The Dark Side

Hello again!
Last post for today I promise. This is the last of the challenge entries that I have finished from this weekend. I have one more to go, but it's not started yet!

This layout is the other half of the spread that I made with this page, it is a loose double page.  I tried to make them have elements in common.

The challenge was a sketch which I loved. I don't think I strayed too far away from the sketch itself but I think I might have left a couple layers out?

I did have a hard time with this layout because I didn't want to cover the misting, but I still feel like it is plain. I don't know, I might see what can be added to it or just leave it as is.

I used a stencil that I cut out with my Silhouette for another project but I had kept it to use again sometime.  I love the way that it turned out.  The stencil was a match for the set behind darth vader!  I used gold Heidi Swapp spray to show up on the black background.

The photos were cut down to be 3x4 to match the journal card which is from an old Studio Calico project life kit.  I always get excited when I am able to use up something that has been kicking around for a while.

The Light Side

Hello!
I did a lot of scrapping this weekend for challenge entries so here is another one!

Another layout with Star Wars pictures! This exhibit was amazing and I am glad that I'm finally getting some of my planned layouts done with the help of challenges like this one.  This challenge is from Let's Get Sketchy and it was this awesome sketch!

This layout is part of a very loose double page spread. I wanted to have the opposite sides from the movie featured in my album because that is how they are featured in the exhibit.  So I made a very loose double page spread.  This page is of Luke and Yoda.  I took my colours from the photos as well as the Rebel colour which is blue.

I was able to use up a few old pieces from Studio Calico kits which is amazing! Less stuff in my stash and more buying that I can do!

The paper is Simple Stories Urban traveller, basic grey for studio calico and ocober afternoon midway collection.  The white is just plain cardstock from somewhere.

Princess Leia

Hello everyone!

I made an entry for Scrap Our Stash's Birthday Stash-a-Thon
This challenge was to use twine/ribbon/streamers on the layout. I used twine.

Ok for this picture the flash kept going off and I couldn't get it to stop. I'm not sure why it kept wanting to go  off because the other pictures were all taken without flash. But that first one would not cooperate for me!

I tried to get some close ups of the embellishments and title on the page from some different angles for a change. I think they turned out fun!

I tried to get a picture of the button I made from a pin that I bought at the gift shop.  These pins were awesome and make great additions to my pages from this event.  You can also see how i added twine to my page. I wanted to add more but I just couldn't find the right spot for it.

Here is the link for the blog itself as opposed to the specific challenge entry.

These pictures were all taken at the Star Wars Identities exhibit. Which I highly recommend for anyone who likes (or has kids that like) the movies.  The exhibition is full of props, costumes and drawings from all 6 movies.

Life is an adventure

Hello Everyone!
I am back again with another divided page from my trip. I am trying to break up the postings from my trip with other pages so it's not all Africa pages.

This is a Becky Higgins design A page protector. I re-did a couple of my pages that I wasn't to happy with once I had bought the design A sheets.  This is one that I did re-make.  But I kept the journalling the same, I might have added more actually.

I used cards from various collection that I have and some cut apart sheets. I'm really not sure where they all came from.

Thanks for stopping by!
Stay crafty xoxo.

A Queen's Costumes

Hi everyone, today I have another video. I'm really sorry about the quality of the video, I am still getting used to which settings to select when editing. I will get better I promise! Also I know the lighting is bad in this video, that I did fix!

Besides all of that, I hope you enjoyed my video. I used papers from the new Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party collection. I loved this colour combination together!

Thanks for stopping by and watching the video, I will get better with editing and video quality I promise!

Earth Hour

Hello everyone.
Today's layout is very different for me. I used a large photo, I think it's 8x10.  Then I layered a whole bunch of scras of papers that were in the same colours that I wanted to use.
This layout was inspired by two Shimelle Laine/Glitter Girl videos (I will more that are relevant though).

Those are the videos that I was talking about. They were all made by Shimelle/Glitter Girl and I don't own them. I just got the links from YouTube to share with all you! Although I am sure you have seen them by now!

I hope you enjoyed this layout. Check out the video links that inspired me to choose these colours and to use a large photo instead of smaller 4x6 like normal!

Haul Video and new camera set up!

Here is my first video filmed with my new camera set up. Sorry about the lighting. That is the next challenge I am facing, the first was the camera mount. I will post an update about the set up I have created.

Good news! It probably only cost me about $10 to make!

Enjoy the video! Thanks for watching.
